On a serious note, this blog is about human growth, and what it takes for us to grow well. It’s mostly about spiritual formation, spiritual direction, and soul care, because that’s where I believe most of our growth comes, but it will also be about psychology, philosophy, and anything else that helps us grow.
As I peruse the ‘verse o’blogs, I find that most growth-oriented blogs are either completely free from any religious affiliation, or are from the emergent perspective. This one is neither. I am openly a conservative, contemplative, charismatic, evangelical, Anglican Christian, and yet I’m writing a blog about spiritual formation and human growth. Go figure.
Honestly, I anticipate that this blog is also an outlet for me. Right now, I want to be working in this field, but I’m picky about what I want to do and how I want to do it, and about how much I get paid to do it, so I’m working in a totally unrelated field moonlighting as a spiritual director. Since I can’t be where I want to be in real life, I can be there, to some extent, on the internet.
I’m also growing a lot right now, and this is partly a chronicle of that, of what works for me and what doesn’t, about where I used to be and where I am now, and about where I hope I’m going.
I hope you find something here that interests you, and that you’ll keep coming back for more.
